MAKE YOUR CALL
Before you reveal
- Orient: view, chamber, valve, near field
- Time: systole or diastole?
- Locate: structure, attachment, jet origin
- Name the visible finding; grade only with adequate data

A REPEATABLE PASS
Keep your eye on the question
01 / Orient
Identify the view before naming pathology. Trace chamber boundaries and valve attachment points.
02 / Time
Follow several beats. Tie leaflet motion, chamber collapse, and flow direction to the cardiac cycle.
03 / Integrate
Use grayscale, color, and spectral Doppler together. A dramatic cine alone rarely establishes lesion severity.
04 / Commit
State each supported finding separately. Avoid adding an etiology or severity grade the available study cannot support.
